5 Business Apps I Couldn’t Live Without

Education for Photographers

Between keeping up with clients payment plans and contracts, editing schedules, album designs and blog posting, without these 5 best business apps for photographers, I don’t know where my business would be!  Here’s an in depth look at my favorite apps for business!

  1. Lightroom: this almost goes without saying, but Lightroom is used every. single. day.  It’s where all the editing magic happens.  Since I deliver color copies and black and white copies of each image, Lightroom makes it easy to run my custom presets in color and black and white and create copies of each!  It resizes images upon exporting and renames them all for me!  I have a creative cloud membership with both Lightroom and Photoshop.
  2. BlogStomp: I use blog stomp to resize images for the blog.  It adds my logo, sharpens them all for the web and makes them nice and small so the blog doesn’t scream at me for uploading ginormous files.  Gotta keep the blog happy.  She gets cranky.
  3. Showit: Showit is my website and blog platform.  I absolutely love it.  It’s one of my favorite apps!  I can go in, update galleries, update pricing, and get inquiries all in one place, all on my own and immediately.  I can update SEO, design it myself if I wanted and I don’t have to have a design degree to use it.  (However, I DID hire my favorite designer ever, Melissa Love to do a gorgeous design in 2015, but YOU don’t have to.  I’ve used Showit for 5 years before I hired a designer and had awesome websites I built all on my own.)  It’s so awesome, it even text messages my phone each time I get an inquiry so I don’t have to watch my email like a hawk just in case — I’m safe checking it twice daily.
  4. AlbumStomp: This is where all the designing happens for albums.  This is a tedious process, but AlbumStomp makes it easy and is simple to use.
  5. HoneyBook: I use HoneyBook to handle all my client’s contracts, payment plans and payments.  Honeybook is a web based application that creates an easy but GORGEOUS contract for each of my clients.  I go in, input their info, and it builds a modern and sleek contract, builds their payment plan based on what package they want, and even handles invoicing them each month.  Payments are deposited directly into my banking account and it lets me know at any time how clients are doing on their plans so there’s no more hunting down spreadsheets in my computer.  This has helped save me a TON of time in my business.

I should admit I have recently come across one more app I would probably use in my work as well. It is posting software for GMB listings from Local Viking. It is used to schedule GMB posts, connect GMB accounts and manage GMB properties from one dashboard. Sounds great, isn’t it?
